  • About the Certificate​

    • The Child Welfare Advanced Professional/Child Protective Services Certificate is a professional development program focused on experiential learning. Designed specifically for those working in the social services field these participants will advance their public administration skills through practical and real-life applications. This program will prepare entrepreneurial and innovative public service leaders and executives to be effective, ethical and successful in an increasingly complex and dynamic world. Participants will be able to demonstrate self-confidence and the capacity to undertake complex and ambiguous community problems in the public service area of Child Protective services.

  • Who Should Participate?​

    • Any individuals involved in the child welfare services  in both government and non-profit sectors seeking a post-master's certificate, advance their education at the doctoral level or to work as a mid-level to senior level manager pertaining to the various areas of the Child Protective Services (CP)/Child Welfare (CW) practices. 

  • Course Pricing

    • $1,250 per Student ​

    • $1,100 for Government/Non-Profit employees

  • Dr. Kevin Marino has over 20 years of experience in mental health, substance misuse, forensics, child protection and both public and private leadership agencies. Prior to launching the REAL Academy in the summer of 2020 - he served in various child protection roles across North Carolina. Kevin has severed on several state and local government boards and is well recognized by his peers and colleagues for innovations in systems work. Recently, multiple states on the east coast adopted the critical reasoning training system he designed for child welfare.

  • Dr. Robert Wright serves as the Director of Research and Development at the REAL Academy. He has over 25 years of experience in increasingly more responsible positions to envision, and develop. He  implements innovative programs, policies and grant acquisition strategies that impact the public and private sectors. Robert organizes people and events while communicating positive ideas and images intended to improve organizational productivity and support innovative decision-making. Dr. Wright received his BA from the University of Chicago, an MPA from Suffolk University, Boston MA, and a Doctorate in Public Administration from the University of LaVerne, LaVerne CA.
